The original kitchen was dark and had very little visual connection to the garden; an existing chimney that would be difficult to remove created an additional challenge. Utilizing the existing footprint, added corner windows and a large, glass, exterior door, CKd brought much needed natural light into the space while providing bright views of the garden. In order to soften the visual impact of the chimney on the space, CKd also placed the refrigerator, wall ovens, and a tall storage cabinet adjacent to the chimney.
