Addition/Renovation in Swarthmore
The owners of this 1930's era stone colonial revival house fell in love with the wonderful location, rooms and details but knew that the kitchen was undersized and a bit dated. CKd worked closely with them to expand the kitchen and create a better relationship to their garden. By removing a later addition, we were able to create a gracious new entry and flexible second floor office/au pair space. The modern detailing is sympathetic to the revivalist style of the house and allows for more daylight and improved energy efficiency. CKd is working with the owner to explore the use of "green" finish materials including bamboo flooring and high efficiency lighting.
