Our current and recent work has been strongly influenced by sustainability issues and includes:

  • New World Symphony Campus Expansion Project designed by Gehry Partners in Miami Beach Florida. Gehry Partners recommended CKd based upon our collaboration on a similar project for the Lewis Library at Princeton University. Currently CKd is providing FF&E services for the new orchestral academy.
  • The New Carver Science Building at Cheyney University, a, 40,000 sf, $17 million general sciences building (the first new academic construction at Cheyney in 30 years), targeted LEED Silver and currently in final design,
  • Metropolitan Hall, a, 90,000 sf, $19 million residence hall at Widener University (in association with Wallace Roberts & Todd of Philadelphia),
  • The Widener University Conference Center at Lathem Hall,
  • Renovations at Beardsley Hall for the Swarthmore College Art Department, and at Pearson Hall for the Swarthmore Department of Educational Studies.
  • Also just completed is the, 33,900 sf, $4.5 million renovation and restoration of the 70’s era Marian Anderson Music Building at Cheyney University. The project includes a general updating of all the building systems, updating all the teaching spaces and a complete renovation of the 500 seat auditorium from multi-purpose to a music venue. Despite the challenging budget, special attention is paid to creating a new identity for the building and the fine arts department and to telling the story of Marian Anderson.
