CuetoKEARNEYdesign is an emerging firm concerned with creating quality environments for people through the art of architecture, interiors, custom furniture and graphic design. Our long experience has taught us that the best architecture is created through collaboration with artists, design professionals and clients. CKd was founded in 2004 with an emphasis on College and University work and our clients include Swarthmore College, Widener University and Princeton University. We are a small office with large experience, choosing to remain small so that we can guarantee personal service to our clients. Our experience allows us to work on major projects through joint ventures with appropriately sized architectural firms.

We are a Pennsylvania WMBE certified woman/minority owned business, members of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) and Philly Car Share. Claudia Cueto has over 20 years experience in architecture and interior design. In her role as director of interiors at Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates, she oversaw work at major universities including Princeton, Harvard, Dartmouth, and the University of Pennsylvania. Since leaving VSBA, she has continued to work with Penn and Princeton.

Principal Tim Kearney has 20+ years working with firms in Philadelphia and Washington, most notably 16 years with VSBA. He was Project Manager on a wide variety of projects there including the Philadelphia Orchestra Hall, 8 projects for the Walt Disney Company, the Cor Unum performing Arts center at the Stuart Country Day School and the Camden Children’s Garden. In addition to practice, Tim teaches at Penn and Drexel and is chair of the Swarthmore Borough Planning Commission.

Our current and recent work is strongly influenced by sustainability issues and includes such projects as Metropolitan Hall, a $19 million residence hall at Widener University (in association with Wallace Roberts & Todd of Philadelphia), phase 2 of the Widener Conference Center at Lathem Hall, and renovations to the Admissions Department and the President’s offices, all at Widener University, renovations at Beardsley Hall for the Swarthmore College Art Department, renovations at Pearson Hall for Swarthmore College, Department of Education and various arts related projects for the Fairmount Park Art Association and the Fabric Workshop and Museum.
